Description:

This course is an introduction to Korean. You will gain familiarity with Han'gul, the phonetic system, basic grammar, foundational vocabulary, discourse, reading, and culture. Also, this beginning course will help you build language skills - speaking, hearing, reading, and writing - at a basic level and broaden your understanding of Korean culture. You will learn to understand and communicate simple ideas in the Korean language. By the end of the course you will be able to introduce yourself, talk about life at school, the classroom, and home life. This course features the Conversation Café, a live virtual classroom where students may practice their language skills, and one-on-one speaking appointments. This is the first course in a two-part Korean series (KOREA 041 and 043).

For optimal connection speeds during signing appointments, it is recommended to use a hard-wired, high-speed Internet connection during the appointment. NOTE: This course can not be completed in less than two months.
Due to the nature of this course’s learning outcomes, the exams are only available in a paper format. Please plan for shipping time.
