FREN 041 and 043 or two semesters of high school French.

Students will continue to learn to communicate in French; reading, writing, speaking, and culture will be stressed. This course features new interactive elements: live one-on-one speaking appointments, a student discussion board, and an instructor-hosted wiki. There is strong emphasis on learning to speak the language, as well as read and write it. This is the third course in a four-part French series (FREN 041, FREN 043, FREN 051, and FREN 053).

Course Content:

Unit 1: Cultural Activities
Unit 2: Technology
Unit 3: Post Office and Bank
Unit 4: Driving in France
Unit 5: Take the Train
Unit 6: At a Hotel
Unit 7: Getting Around Paris
Unit 8: Life in the Countryside

Students will need access to a computer with high speed Internet access, a microphone, speakers (or headphones), and a webcam. There are no resubmissions or retakes on instructor-graded assignments, unit quizzes or the final exam. On speaking appointments, lowest score may be dropped. You must complete the speaking appointment in each unit before you can move on to the next unit.
