Prerequisite:Honors Chemistry, Part 1 (CHEM 061) and Algebra 1, Part 2 (ALG 053) or equivalent.
Description:The topics in this honors-level chemistry course include kinetic theory, gas laws, solutions, chemical kinetics and equilibrium, acid/base reactions, precipitation reactions, oxidation-reduction reactions and electrochemistry. Honors Chemistry, Part 2 continues the study of the principles of chemistry and builds on the concepts taught in Honors Chemistry, Part 1. This is the second course in a two-part chemistry series (CHEM 061 and CHEM 063).

Paper Courses:Assignments for this course can be submitted online or by mail, email, or fax. If you do not have reliable internet access the optional course packet includes bubble sheets to be mailed.
Notes:Students will need a scientific calculator and a computer with CD-ROM drive (Windows 2000/Mac OS X or above). Virtual Chem Lab software does not currently work with the latest version of Mac OS (10.7). You will have to use this software on a PC, or an older version of Mac OS.
