Notes:

ARAB 102 covers beginning to intermediate skills in spoken and written Arabic; includes basic grammar structures, reading strategies, and speaking about familiar subjects such as family and personal life. Cultural activities are an important part of this course. Using the most widely used textbooks and engaging online activities built by BYU, students will learn to communicate in both spoken and formal Arabic. Participation via Adobe® Connect™ with one of our Arabic-speaking mentors is required. A webcam, microphone, and speakers are necessary to conduct required speaking appointments. For optimal connection speeds during speaking appointments, it is recommended to use a hardwired, high-speed Internet connection during the appointment. Access to a printer/scanner is necessary to submit written assignments for grading.
Due to the nature of this course’s learning outcomes, the exams are only available in a paper format. Please plan for shipping time.
